Why Clothes Shopping Is Extremely Boring And How You Make It Fun!
Alex was at the very back of the robe shop from where she had to get her robes from. All she remembered of the name was, that it had a lot of M's in it. And this, is the point where Alex's true talent at getting lost comes to light. She was lost, in the shop. But if you ask Alex, lost would a be a harsh term, preferring to go for something like 'Trying to find something interesting to do'.
Seeing a bunch of extremely old clothes, Alex had inspiration, she was lost, to put it more accurately, I am getting boooooooooooored by all the shopping. So why not take a break, but not for eating again, for something else, something like..........
In five minutes Alex was out of the dressing room she had found at the back, wearing a ridiculous sheer golden robe, with rainbow colored feathers sticking out from the sides. She had paired it with a hat, that looked like a dead tiger skin on her head. Laughing at her reflection, she tried a few poses, all more comic than the last, until she suddenly stopped, hearing laughter.
Whipping around, she looked for the source of that laughter.

Skylar walked into Madam Malkin's shop and felt her jaw drop. She couldn't believe that she was shopping for her school robes today. Excitement was quickly building, threatening to over take her. Looking over her shoulder, she saw her mum trying to catch the attention of a very busy Madam Malkin. Chuckling to herself she decided to stray farther into the shop and explore what it had in the back.
Rows of ridiculously gaudy robes lined the walls. Skylar couldn't help but wonder who would buy such things. After walking a while she heard the rustling of fabric near the back wall. Silently, she crept toward the sound. A girl was trying on a crazy outfit and posing in the mirror. Before Skylar knew it she was laughing. Dang it! She clasped her hands over her mouth and sat, waiting to see if the girl heard her. Soon it became quite clear that she had. Sighing Skylar moved out of the robe rack.
"Hey, nice robes!" she said smiling.

"Well I chose them, didn't I?" Alex answered with a smirk, tuning a circle to fully display them. In a second though, her smirk tuned into a grimace as she added, "Though they do itch a lot! I wonder in how many years nobody has worn them?" She asked, turning to all the robes and shaking them, sneezing loudly as a cloud of dust rose from them. "Ages." She answered her own question, shaking her head at the clothes.

Skylar let out a chuckle as she waved her hand in front of her face. The dust was thick and tickled her throat. "Nah, I think that's part of the style: Ancient." She smiled at the girl. "Are you shopping for school robes?"

"Otherwise, I wouldn't be caught dead here!" Alex replied with a slight shudder, taking off the robe and replacing it on the shelf. She wasn't very neat though, and it showed. Not that Alex really cared, according to her, a cloth stacked was the same as a cloth stuffed, well, at least that explains the state of her wardrobe.

"What year?" Skylar asked as she watched the girl put away the robe. She looked very old, leading Skylar to think she was either a First or Second Year. I wonder if we'll end up in the same House, she thought, waiting for the girl's reply.

"First!" Alex answered, her voice excited, though she did feel an undercurrent of being left out. Everyone around already knew so much about each other and if she would have been in an older year maybe.............but then, she was also sure friends were made on the way up, and she could manage.
"What aboutcha?"
"What aboutcha?"

"The same," Skylar smiled. Now she knew at least one person. Hopefully they would be put into the same House.
She reached over and pulled out a string decorated with cheetah spots that faded to zebra stripes and back and had all the colors of the rainbow glittering across it. "What house are you hoping for?" she asked as she took the strip down and started to tie it. When she was done it was tied in a perfect knot. Smiling she gave it to the girl. "That'll add to the outfit."
